Urban Dahlias was founded with a passion for these resilient and beautiful flowers. We discovered that Dahlias are true workhorses in 2018, as one dahlia gave over 200 blooms in one season—to think that a tuber that looks like a sweet potato can generate so much joy; amazing.

The founder and owner, Tiaan Clasen, has always had a deep passion for gardening, particularly flower bulbs. The magic of flower bulbs has always amazed me, and I am still a collector of Amaryllis, among others. Our little passion project came to life when I realized that local dahlia varieties were limited. I wanted to focus more on show varieties, as displayed in the USA and UK, where Dahlia shows are a major event. My hope is that one day, South Africa will have a strong presence with local shows and societies dedicated to these spectacular flowers.

At Urban Dahlias, we are passionate about growing exceptional dahlias. As a small, dedicated grower, we carefully cultivate and test each variety to ensure top-tier quality. Our tubers are trialed and proven to produce stunning blooms, bringing beauty to every garden.
